Origin Story

Bint No. 194 is a second generation Palestinian-American multidisciplinary artist and storyteller who has been in practice for over 20 years. She is the daughter of the Right of Return, the essence of the Sunbird.

Her expressions explore themes of displacement, alienation, resistance, embodiment, connection, consciousness, & uses personification as a means to humanize.

Her process is motivated by ancestral/indigenous storytelling & healing, inspired by the natural & celestial. She explores expression & color through different avatars while often giving faces to elements otherwise seen as inanimate. Bint (meaning daughter) No. 194 (indicative of UN's Resolution 194) signifies the progeny of genocide and apartheid; creating as a means to exist & resist, remember & record, and - one day - return home.
